2018 MQ GLS Auto, 265/65/17 KO2s, Summit bar, Roof Racks,
7800 kms
around 10L/100Km around town according to display. Varies a bit depending on terrain.
Best on a trip out by St George 8.3L/100 (only me, the fridge and minimal luggage) mostly flat road @100kph.
Found it changed a lot depending on fuel load. One tank from a small place non major station, it jumped to 11L/100 and could rarely get it under. Next tank (on the same trip) from a Caltex returned the above 8.3L/100.
Dealer service manager reckoned in the 9s around town. Could be right for a standard car.
I think it has improved as the Ks increased, at least around town. Off-road the other day and doing a lot of low-range low gear stuff it hit 15L/100. But we are talking steep climb out of a valley in the Brindabella's (Canberra) where low second was the highest gear most of the time.
Will see once the winch/sidesteps/bash plates go on and it gets some more Ks.
Economy is not the best for a 2.4 diesel I think. But it is what it is. Colleagues D-Max was much better until he modified it as we all do, now about 10.5L city driving.
If I was towing I would invest in a lock up kit. May do anyway for off-road. I have had what I believed was the auto temp alarm go off on me off-road when I left it in "drive". Better to sports shift it.
